If you click on the cornwallcam link today (stalking Cornwall in me main links), have a look at Carn Galver. It is about 7-8 miles from me and is one of the wildest places in Cornwall. Simply beautiful.
This is a life size picture the houses are so small because they are the homes of Cornish pixies. Round the other side is a aluminium smelting plant.
That's almost how I imagined the path in the book, Minx, but from the opposite angle! :)

Polperro is an ancient fishing village, Shameless. The houses also straddle a river that cuts through the middle of the higgledy-piggedly houses.
Pixies are known as Piskies down here, Mutley (probably because the Cornish ain't none to smart at the learnin' of the letters). If you're a Piskie down a tin mine, then you are called a Knocker (don't go there).
Anyway, you found me out. This IS Piskie Town, home of Tosspots Murderous Slagheap and the famous 'lead pasty' - which, incidentally, is only consumed on Pea Wednesday, and not three days after the Sock festival as stated in the guide book.
To correct you again, Mut, around the headland lies the sulphuric acid factory which has recently opened again after being absolved of all charges for killing off the entire population of Polperro in 2005.
No, just kidding - Garfield 'Slagmaster' Tregembo survived the holocaust as he was visiting his 'sister', Unity Bosom, in Bognor Regis.
That is a lovely stretch Jan, but I have to say that Cape Cornwall is my favourite place along that coast. A pint of the good stuff, in Sennen Cove, would go down a treat right now!

I've been to Cape Cornwall several times...lots of walking and my husband once played very windswept golf there.
