But just had to get another post in before I attack the wine because I have something to say....
In mailing Lee Lowe this morning with an account of my 'Writing Course' history it set me thinking about what I got out of those mostly dreary hours I spent in the company of some serious weirdos.
I think I did them to try and validate my writing and to get some new feedback! Friends and family are great but they lie through their loving and giving teeth!!
In the last few days I have been whizzing about listening, and partaking, in some lively debates with people who, are not only like minded, but have some insightful words and advice about books, publishing, pitfalls and all manner of writerly things.
Everyday I laugh, cry, spit, giggle and swear at the posts I read and this has only served to make me feel plumped, coddled, advised and revived.
So thanks!
Blogging is the best Writing Group/Course I have ever attended and double bonus - it's going to last more than ten weeks!!
Now, back to my pizza parcels.......

I agree. Blogging is better than any writing course. I've taken a few in the past and I have to say that I've learned more about writing on the internet than I have anywhere else.
I love my terrestrial group and wouldn't be here now without them. I only started writing seriously for the group and didn't even realise I was writing a novel until halfway through.
But now I have a new group in a new format. I get sustenance, debate and lots of other good feedback from this new group (that's you guys in case you hadn't worked it out). It's different from the physical group and gives me other things. I can't possibly say if it's better or not as good - it's not a competition. It would be like asking which of my kids I prefer!
How lucky am I to have both???
All of which is by way of saying how grateful I am to be part of this new community ... No such thing as too much good stuff in your life ...
I'm not a fan of writing groups; not good at groups of any kind really. On those rare occasions when I've had to work in an office environment for any length of time, I only drink water to avoid getting intangled in the milk politics.
Last time I had any real contact with other writers was seven years ago on the MA course. I didn't write anything vaguely useful for three years afterwards.
I don't see this as a writers' group, at least not in the sense that we critique each other's work - had enough of that.
I'll put my commas where I bloody well like, thank you and I deliberately chose those fucking adjectives.
intangled=entangled
I like intangled and I like 'milk politics' even better - going to nick that one!
Got so fed up with the stuffy writers group I went to that I swore I would start my own. The only trouble is that they will have to have an interview and pass a few tests before I'll let them in!!
I am a sociable Minx and enjoy 'most' group activities but mixing with a bunch of twats who had 'rules' about writing was enough to put me off for life.
I wrote a poem called 'Fuck Fuck Fuckety Fuck' and they all but threw me out.
Having said that I find the company of other writers is what motivates me into another chapter, and gets the creative gravy cooking. So you lot will have to do for now!!!
Minx - what a Shite Shite Shiteity Shite group that must have been. I didn't realise how lucky I am with mine!
Skint - we'll be whatever you want us to be ...
Yor fuckety poem sounds great how's about posting it?
