Just don't tell me it was real

"Of course it's not real." said the knowledgeable friend "There is a severe lack of evidence."

I glanced around. She was right but it had seemed real enough to wake me up in a cold sweat and stay with me for the rest of the day.
Being pregnant at my age would be enough to make me slit me wrists and hang myself from the top of the stairs for good measure.
Strangely, the pregnant part of the dream was nice. I was in my comfort zone. When I had the Feckers I loved being pregnant and in my sleeping gestation I had experienced the same kind of feelings - lots of tummy rubbing and feeling rather smug. What came next was a horror above all horrors.

"It just means that you are hatching something, giving birth to something and besides, look at all the new stuff you are doing already." said the knowledgeable, dream deciphering friend.

She was right. For the last two months everything has been in the 'new' category. Every day sprinkled with mostly bad 'new' but a little helping of good as well. I'm aware that certain dreams reflect our state of mind but what I didn't need was a very realistic nightmare in which the end product was chasing me around the house demanding to be fed every five minutes.

After checking under the bed once again I now believe that it really was just a dream. The Feckers have been saved from an embarrassing coroners report and I am free to continue life without all the nasty leaky bits.
Which now only leaves me with the intriguing question - who exactly was the phantom father?

I have had that dream too. *shudders*

Yes, it does mean that you're 'going through changes' as Ozzy sang once upon a time, a long time ago in a warbly voice.

And I think some of those changes are really cool! :)

That George Clooney has a lot to answer for ...

Yay, Babs, the times they are a changin' (Dyl)and the Feckers and I are adapting. Not sure that we want to adapt to an addition to our cosy nest though!

Do you think it's George, Debi? Shrieks!! Oh Goddess - that ugly child. Hand me the rope, now!

Urgh. Mine wasn't a dream, it was a real fright. Fortunately it was only a fright, she said mopping her wrinkled brow.

Anyhoo, that said, I think it was a cool dream - knowledgeable friend is spot on right! Smart friend!

Phantom father? If not George then Brad?

I too have had that dream. When I woke up, I was actually gravely disappointed!

I think a dream about pregnancy probably has a lot to do with being full, and bringing a new creativity to life. IMHO.

Minx, you wouldn't be the first to have conceived immaculately. It's auspicious, believe me.

Er - Barney has left you a message over in my comments. Good luck, Minx - really.

I've had my share of frights over the years, Abs, - not nice!
I am quite liking the idea of a phantom father as long as he doesn't want to father any children with me. I suppose Pitt will do.

That's mad, Roberta, don't you remember anything? Puke, potties, sleepless nights and some very sore bits? Oh no, no thank you.

Signs, there is this weird star hanging over the house. I expect it is just to guide Barney here for his holiday. What do you mean he's coming to live with me?

Hell! That reminded me of Alien!!

What do you mean who was the father?
It's George Clooney, we went over that last week!

You must be going through a LOT of changes, hang in there lady, and don't get wild for a while, hmm?
Just in case...

And careful about what you eat before you go to bed...

John G, having a baby is not so far removed from the Alien thing!!

Does he, Leslie? Well ask him to tell me as well.

I ate nuts, Scarlett, do you think it makes a difference?

Mad? Me? Oh no. I adored pregnancy, loved it after (actually) giving birth. That smell they have (the little ones) and the daily care never, ever, discouraged me. I adored it!

Sadly, no more. I'll just have to wait for the grandbabies to steal.

I have to agree, Roberta, the appeal of grandchildren that you can give back at the end of the day seems like a good solution.

Um - maybe best not to put this idea to the Feckers just yet ...

I think they would be pushing me out of the way to get to the knife drawer, Debi!

I cannot reply to that query the way that I would like to, Minx.

It would -ruin- my reputation.

But yes, I was thinking it with a wicked giggle...
