Butterfly

As we go through our lives the road we walk is often rocky and winding. Sometimes we can continue on the same path and sometimes we realise that the stones that we relied on are not there anymore.

My path dropped off the end of a cliff for a while but as time goes by I am starting to see a new one - a path that is of my own making and a path that is full of hope for the future.
Misery does not become me and along with hope comes a desire for happiness which I often think is the only true path that we should take.

So as I take a few tentative steps in a new direction please join me and celebrate the butterfly in all of us. Where there is an end there is always a new beginning - we just have to look. Oh, and you can also celebrate the new butterfly that I have tattooed on my ass!

.

(Can I also thank all you lovely, lovely people who took the time to email me - it meant a lot)

I'm all aflutter!

The blogosphere has been a greyer place these last few weeks. You got back just in time to stop me sending in the party squatters, and you know how much mess they make during a blog rave ...

So glad you're back!

Does this mean we can't have that party on the last post?
Can we crash the bar mitzvah instead?

Minx...You're not getting off that easily! You must post a photo of the new tat...

They are still drying in the sun, Roberta, but soon.

You are too kind, Debi, and thanks for the post on yer blog. I think we should have a party, break open the gin, please.

Thanks, Hoodie, but my stone is still in place in case I need to hide again!

I may show the world my butterfly one day but for now it remains as a symbol of newness after 26 years.

I am still up for it as I said. Would you care for a small g & t one evening in the week? I will wash and everything...

Stronger and wiser? One hopes so, Meloney.

I think there is a small, green, prickly thing in all of us, Jon. It just depends on whether we know we are capable of butterflyness.

My new social life is a bit hectic now, Mutley. I can fit you in on Thursday between the Slagtown Wimmins Institoot meeting and bowling with Roger Taylor's (Queen) sister (one of these is true!). Washing would be good, as long as you don't lick yer balls in public!

A butterfly is the perfect symbol for your transformation. From the galumphing drudge of the many-legged, low expectation life of the caterpillar to unlimited flight whilst sipping nectar from an infinitude of fecund flowers is a change everyone can undergo when habitually settling for less is recognized to be not the weaving of ones final resting place but the cocoon womb of personal rebirth. Well done, dear one.

Wait. Wait. There was a party? Is there going to be a party? Should there have been a party?

Where!!! I just bought gin!

I think it should be a butterfly coming out party! ;)

Thank you, G&G, kind and erudite words, as always.

And thank you, Marcus, the butterfly also symbolises the fragility of human nature in its struggle to adapt to new changes.

John G, my 45-year-old ass is staying well under wraps, thank you - for your sake and for mine!

Maybe that should be 'Now, Now!' - Girl with a mask.

Party's up and running, Roberta. I have lemons.

Welcome back! Hope you are well.

I am well, thanks, Marie. Have you finished that bloody novel yet?

pee ess - there is a new chat widget in the sidebar. If anyone is feeling brave would you try it out and see if it works - I have my doubts.

Yay - yay - yay - yay-

She's back, she's back, go Minxy, go Minxy (as me girls would say)

:)))))

Unknown said...

Aha, she's back and I bet she's going to be a whole bundle more trouble than before! Here's a G&T for you, Minx!

Unknown said...

Cakey dinlo, Marcus? Not at all - the little ball should be green if I am online and then, as my wonderful Oirish friend has just proved, everything should be in good working order.

Widjits and eejits in order, Babs, go on, go on, go on....

Trouble, Aty? Only the very best kind, you understand!

Good to read you again, Minx. You are truly indomitable and an inspiration to us all.

Unknown said...

Thank you, Janm happiness is the key.

But am I inspiring enough for you to write a new blogpost, Pundy? And isn't about time we got back to having some fun?

I'm sooooooo glad that you are back, and I hope you stay. Terribly about Seamus, isn't it?

Unknown said...

Hi, Chicken, my life is full of butterflies at the moment - I think someone is trying to tell me something!

Thanks, Noony, judging by the number of bloggers who are falling by the wayside I reckon I have a duty to keep on keeping on. Seamus will be missed.
