That's what always annoyed me about that anti-racism advert on London transport which jumbled up the letters and ended with, "It doesn't make sense." To which I could never help myself thinking, "Well actually, it makes perfect sense, it just isn't spelt well."

If it hadn't made sense, the ad wouldn't have worked, because people wouldn't have understood the damn thing.

It is amazing. I could actually read all of it! Not as dumb as I thought I was then!

Wow!

FB's dyslexia throws up some funny interpretations - like when he said, 'Oooh those rolls look nice. They've got salmonella on top.' (Semolina.) Wonder if he could read this. Suspect not.

Now could be the time for a confession. I can speak backwards fluently and have done from childhood. I can do it phonetically and as written ... Oo-er ...

shyh skuji ooslopjg s hj skuvbg!

Who can crack the Lehane code though?

Unknown said...

Typo-dyspraxlexia Jason, to give it its correct title (see post further down). At least you haven't got Lingo Incapabilitalis (Language of the Pissed) which is what Lehane seems to be suffering from!!

Debi, maybe your little party trick should one that's best left for the privacy of your own home, along with your weird snacks!

So you did all that hard work editing for nothing, then?

Unknown said...

way cool!

How long does it take to write like that? It wluod aeepr ... man I can't do it. Why is misspelling so easy except when you're trying? Shit now I can't even type my password in!

Gabriele Campbell said...

Yes, I can read that stuff, but it does take some effort. I'm synaesthetic (I see letters and numbers in colour), and the position of a letter in a word plays a role in the general aura of the word, thus misplaced letters screw with the aura and give me a headache.

I forgot to say that I could read it. However, I don't think my ability to read the message, has anything to do with smarts. :) I ponder that it has to do with me having to proof-read students essay's in college. I've seen worst spelling than that, and been able to decipher it. :)

Unknown said...

Gabriele, go and visit Amin - synaesthesiacs unite!

Jefferson, not only are students notoriously bad speelers but they are now sneaking in 'text' language. Can't stand it myself - cul8er!

PS Dyslexic FB read it easier than if it was correct! Said it made no difference to him ...

Sorry you're unimpressed by my talking backwards party trick. Maybe if you heard it you'd feel different and recognise how very special a gift it is!

Debi, you are a Goddess to me regardless of your odd habits!

FB might well have stumbled on something here. Perhaps this is a whole new theory and we could make a fortune writing books in this way!! Whaddya say?

Debi sez YES!
