Chasing Home
She leaves
in a density of tears
taking the hug of years
that wrapped the trappings
of the once-more child
The miserable stain of her perfume
lingers
as she casts aside the ill-fitting robes
of comfort
defying loneliness
for a dream
that chases home

There is something sad but positive about this poem ... funny how holidays can bring out all kinds of sentiments. I hope the sunburn doesn't hurt too much and that it's good to be back writing.
Shhh, I'm writing!
