At least you can see the sun. I can't remember what it looks like... ah, memories!

It's that big thing, hangs around up there, sometimes quite hot.

That is very beautiful.

Makes me wistful, I'm going to go have some tea now.

oooh and mmmm, that's gorgeous - like marshmallow dreams.

Barbara, Ireland sounds bad, although it's winter here there's still some sun to spare, shall I package a slice up and send it over?

It's hard to believe that golden sun sinking into an azure sea is the same one that sets behind the row of garages at the back of our flats ...

Why what?

aty - please send me some sun! The kids are going mad through lack of vitamin D and I am going mad through being cooped up with ther madness. This is now officially, according to my records the worst summer since 1998!

A should you ask why I am lying on my bed gazing at the sunset when there are twenty million other things to do - I will say that certain things should be savoured.

Barbara is right, the British Isles are soggy biscuits. The rain hath raineth for weeks on end, the wettest month for 25 years. This sunset I usually take for granted but last night I just needed to stop, and look, and remember.

Sun, sun, what the hell's sun?

Yippee! Look who's here with a ray of sunshine in her arms! Welcome back, Saaleha.

Saaleha! We've been so worried - half the blogworld was looking for you.
What flavour baby have you got this time? Oh, oh, so many questions, coming over.....

No, Cailleach, surely the worst summer was when I was there - it was truly bloody awful - in my book anyway... and that was 1994. Am packaging up a slice of sunshine as we speak - I hope it helps!

Oi Madame Vanilla Pod, no slicing up my sun, thank you. And if I catch that bugger doing the raindance I am going to chop their bloody feet off.

No, no, Minx - the rain rained down like a rainy thing. It was the noise of polite clapping recorded at a classical concert. On the lough the water droplets rained so hard that it was a novelty nail picture being remade constantly before our eyes, undulating a grey metallic scree... and the rain continued raining down... as wet as the feeling you had before you could remember existing... ah!

Aty, June 1994 was pretty good. As far as I can remember. maybe the rain clouds followed you around Ireland...?

Unknown said...

Cailleach, that was very poetical, oh yes, forgot - a nearly published POET!!!!
O-o-o-o-o - I feel a party a-comin'.

Atyllah, were you rain-hexed? Not a nice thing, and very hard to get rid of.

It ought to make a hissing and bubbling as it sinks don't you think? It would be more fun....

Sometimes, Mutley, if you listen really hard, you can hear it!
