So how does this work in this world of the blog? I cannot hear your voice and I have nothing else to go on, and yet I like you, your personality shines through. How powerful this written word, how amazing this vox of the blog.
Tibuo est vestri vox vocis - give me your voice.

I'm fascinated by voice also, and the impact voice has when you've otherwise had only words.
If you want to hear my voice, check out my post from Monday. ;)
Minx: You've heard my voice, or so you claim. I think it's weird when I hear someone talk after I've gotten used to reading them. They never sound like I imagine them.
I've heard your singing voice, Maht. Again, often different from the spoken voice because we employ a different set of rules to the larynx.
After working with speech and language for many years, i am still amazed by the written word. I would imagine that the blog is one of the few places where you actually get to know and recognise the unspoken word!
There are a few bloggers who have heard my voice - you will have to ask them how I sound!
I imagine you sound a lot like Nigela Larson. Deep, fully descriptive with a sense of sensuality. At least that is how I picture your voice.
I, however, sound like a West Virginia Hillbilly! And I'm proud of it! ;)
I mostly bark. I expect thats what you were expecting Ms sexy Minx. Woof woof.
Yes, I think 'barking' is a word I might apply to you, Mutley. Yap, yap.
Roberta, I expect you sound like a West Virginian (I refuse the word 'hillbilly').
I heard someone on the radio this morning saying that some accents made people sound stupid. I am not sure how he came to this conclusion because the Cornish accent is so thick that you can't understand what anyone is saying!
I love accents (I haven't got one meself) and all should be celebrated - I am quite pleased with the Nigella comparison though!
The written word has a voice of it's own that we 'hear' in our subconscious. How often do we find it hard to connect a voice that we hear with a person we finally see?
I think voices, both from written and spoken, help us see what is within rather than making judgements based on appearance alone.
Minx has one of those lovely sexy drawls with throaty undertones. Nothing to do with being a smoker of course.
Whoo-hoo, I'm a sexy drawler!
Debi has a bit of sexy drawl herself too! ;) Must be something to do with coming into yourself as you mature...?
Whoo-hoo, a coven of sexy drawlers!
Maturing has nothing to do with it, Cailleach, as you well know. Inhale deeply now, witch-sisters ...
